Ceramides are naturally occurring compounds that maintain skin hydration by reducing water loss. They also aid in barrier function & hence can be used to treat dry skin & eczema.

What is the skin science of ceramides?

Ceramides are organic fatty molecules that holds together the upper layers of skin. Production of #ceramides decrease with age – hence why our skin feels drier as we mature. Infusion of ceramides increases hydration of skin, thus improving skin quality & fine wrinkles. Ceramides can also increase the activity of skin care actives such as #retinol, #niacinamide, #AHA, niacinamide & ascorbic acid.

When should I use ceramides?

AM or PM, before skin care actives if you have sensitive skin. Ceramides can help repair barrier function. Ceramides are great as part of your winter skincare or to repair dry, dehydrated skin.
