What is the science behind argan oil?

This power packed essential oil is derived from the nut fruits of the argan tree, found in the hill of Morocco, Africa. Termed ‘liquid gold’, this time tested oil can has been used on the skin, nail & hair for well over 2,000 years. Can’t beat that for safety data.

What are argan oil benefits for skin?

Argan oil contains a large number of healing properties, including antioxidant, humectant as well as anti-inflammatory properties. This oil can reduce symptoms for a number of different inflammatory skin conditions like psoriasis, atopic eczema & rosacea.

It’s anti-wrinkle & anti-ageing properties are largely due to the high levels of antioxidants, such as tocopherol. Antioxidants reduce UV & environmental stressors to cells, in turn preserving collagen, elastin & hyaluronic acid.

How do you use argan oil?

This oil can be incorporated into your morning or evening routine. Apply one to three drops of pure essential oil after cleansing. You can mix this in a moisturiser.

Davin’s ProTip on Argan Oil

Well documented in the scientific literature regarding the use of this essential oil. Perhaps the best application is the reduction of cardiovascular events, including the potential to reduce heart disease with consumption of culinary argan oil.

The skin benefits, given the benign nature of this oil, can be marginal, especially in the context of antioxidant-preventive cosmetic dermatology. There are more potent antioxidants including ascorbic acid, ferulic acid & tocopherol (pure). Perhaps the best role is in medical dermatology, as argan oil has potent anti inflammatory & moisturizing potential.
